Uppå Marmorns Höga Berg

Emaline Delapaix - 2026

Producing, recording, mixing, accordion & programming: Fieke van den Hurk
Mastered by Maria Triana

After being fascinated with Swedish music and culture for over two decades, it’s only fitting that UK based Australian Singer Songwriter Emaline Delapaix's first release in another language other than English would be in Swedish.

Inspired by some of Emaline’s favourite Nordic musicians including Myrkur, Jonna Jinton and Wardruna, this reimagined version of the traditional Swedish folk song ‘Uppå Marmorns Höga Berg’ drifts between ancient tradition and a darker modern dreamscape. There’s layers of ethereal vocals, a lone horn, haunting Swedish Nyckelharpa, moody accordion, synth and gentle percussion.

The original version was sung by Swedish folk singer Lisa Boudrè (1866 - 1953), who is credited with keeping many traditional Swedish songs alive.

I encourage you to go to Bandcamp and buy the digital or physical version of this track for your own music library, free from the whims of streaming platforms… but even more so to support the artist and the people that have worked on the production - your contribution makes a bigger difference than you realize.
